DESMOND WADE HAD QUITE A FOUR YEARS PLAYING BASKETBALL FOR LINDEN

LINDEN, NJ - Desmond Wade was honored Sunday in The Star-Ledger by being named First Team All-County and First Team All-State, in addition to being selected as the Union County Player of the Year.

The Linden senior will take his game to the University of Houston after he graduates in June.

Also one of the more mature high school athletes, the quiet leader led by example with his tireless effort on both offense and defense.

Wade helped lead Linden to a 104-20 (.839) record during his four years on the varsity. He became a starter midway through his freshman season and proved to be a clutch performer in many big-time games for Linden the past four seasons.

Here’s a look at Linden’s record the past four years and some of the team accomplishments Wade helped the Tigers achieve:

•2007-2008 (23-7): Watchung Conference-National Division champions.

Union County Tournament finalists. North 2, Group 4 finalists.

•2006-2007 (30-3): Watchung Conference-National Division champions.

Union County Tournament champions. North 2, Group 4 champions.

Group 4 champions. Tournament of Champions semifinalists.

Linden defeated No. 1 in the country St. Patrick’s in the UCT final.

•2005-2006 (27-7): Watchung Conference-National Division champions.

Union County Tournament third place. North 2, Group 4 champions.

Group 4 champions. Tournament of Champions finalists.

Linden defeated No. 1 Bloomfield Tech in the TOC semifinals.

•2004-2005 (24-3): Watchung Conference-National Division champions.

Union County Tournament finalists. North 2, Group 4 finalists.

Linden defeated No. 1 St. Anthony at home for the first time.
